    Default Installing Uconnect!!

After using a blue-tooth setup in my friends Camry, and finding out that it was available in certain Chrysler vehicles, I decided to do some research and share my findings.

    Info:

You need the mirror, harness, module, and harness from module to radio. You can get these item out of the following vehicles:

2004-2007 Mini-van's (easiest to use, as the harness is all one piece)
2004-2006 Pacifica's (will work, but you need the ENTIRE dash harness)
    2004-2005 Ram pick ups
    2004-2006 Liberty
    2004 Grand Cherokee (VERY RARE)
These models still used the PCI bus, and newer models use CAN bus, and will not function in our cars.

    Part numbers are:

    Mirror: 5064017AD
    Harness: 4869208AA
    Module: 5064022AQ
    Module to Radio harness: 4869387AC

    How to install:

    1. Disconnect Negative battery cable
    2. Remove radio bezel (300m shown)

    3. Remove your old mirror, it is a torx screw t15 IIRC

    4. Remove the Radio, CD changer (if equipped) or cubby

    5. Run the harness down the passenger B pillar

    6. Run down through the passenger side of the dash

    7. Run behind glove box and into radio area

8: Plug Harness into module, CD changer into module and harness to radio. Pictured in order harness: CD Changer-Mirror Harness-Harness to radio

    9. Stuff the harness down behind where the radio would go, it wont move it pushes in tight

    10. The harness also need to be powered. There is a stray connector that connects to the airbag system, but I just used the ashtray/power as my 12V B+ connection.

    11. Re install the radio, CD Changer or cubby hole, and re-connect the battery

Now comes the most important part to installing the system. Uconnect will only function with radios manufactured AFTER 2004. If you are using an RB1 it will not work if the navigation voice comes from all the front speakers. If the sound only comes from the left side it will function properly.

If you are using an RB1, you will get a screen like this:

Then you pair your phone to the system, and everytime you get in or out of the car, it automatically connects! You just press the button and speak a number! It sounds great, and everyone that I have called says there isnt a difference in sound quality!

If you have any questions let me know!!

Uconnect is AMAZING. It is much nicer then a headset or speaker phone. It works easily and the voice recognition is excellent. The sound plays though the radio, and there is a microphone that pics up the voice on the rear view mirror.

    Hey Bobby,
New guy here, was wondering if you were able to find the harness part number for the 'module to radio' harness? Looking at setting up the same in my '01 300M.
Also, do you have the cd and harness set up to display title/artist info on your RB1?
    Cheers,
    Scott

My Camry's JBL Bluetooth system works much better than uConnect in my dad's 2006 Grand Caravan SXT.

Will this only work with and RB1? How about an RBQ manufactured in 2005?

Nice job! So the CD changer plugs into the module and the module plugs into where the changer plugged in on the radio? That's a lot better to hook up compared to the factory setup on the LX's.
