I was searching around about swaybar links for a friend of mine. I found quite a few for the Nitro and LX class. I wonder if you can use the LX performance swaybar links or even fabricate some. Looks easy to make, just a rod with two bushing mounts.

Well, if they are thicker than the specials, then it might be worth it... but it would have to be an easy swap.. dont wanna have something happen while driving

I was thinking about the same thickness as the ES swaybar.

When I get my finances back to normal im going to install a 220 line in the garage so I can get my welder back up. When I do that i'll try it out. Until then i'll research on the LX swaybar links.

I'm not entirely sure of which piece you are talking about, although it seems simple enough, I'd be concerned on the strength of the welds as well as using the right material and wire/rod. For example I don't know if the links are made from a higher quality steel or not.

Those aren't sway bar links. Sway bar links have ball joints in them and are thinner. Those are the control arms. Any amount of force required to bent those will definitely damage the frame mounting point if those don't absorb most of the impact by bending. So I would say upgrading to thicker ones wouldn't really be called an upgrade. On the other hand the open style ones (93-97 and 98-99 have a U shaped bar) are really flimsy and it would be a good idea to upgrade to the newer style.

I'm afraid your wrong unless all of the sites i've been to are wrong. Those are swaybar links.

Those look like they're the non-adjustable Lateral Control Link and the Trailing Link found only in the rear suspension of the 2nd gen. The front sway bar links have what looks like a ball joint on each end and the threaded part points in opposite directions at each end. I agree the picture you posted doesn't show sway bar links. I've got a pair of brand new Mopar links that I can take pictures of if you still disagree.

Edit: Here's a quick picture of a Moog aftermarket sway bar link. It'll give you an idea of what we're talking about.

I'm a frayed knot ! Those aren't sway bar links for the second and last time. Ive had them in my hands numerous times to know what they look like. On the other hand I'd like to see you steer with those on....LOL
Rear say links have ball joints only on the one side where it connects to the sawaybar, the other side is static attached to the strut. Fronts have ball joints on both sides like the pic that RON posted.

Heres my last attempt. Yes ours have ball joints but these redline sway bar links are also links.
