Hey Chet, whatever program you're using, can't you just delete the background? Since it's a gif, it should be able to have a clear background so that whatever color is behind it can show thru.

I tried a couple of times, and it came out looking crappy for whatever reason. I'm an amateur after all !

If you wanna give it a shot, I'd love to know how to get it to come out not looking ragged..

Hmm, never used that. I just do layers in photoshop and then bring the psd into ImageReady and animate it there. Not sure if your files can be read by Photoshop or ImageReady.

But basically what I do is just use the magic wand in photoshop to select the background and hit delete. That's all it takes to do the trick for me.

For example in this pic below, I deleted the background, but then added a new background layer behind it where I could as easily left it blank and have the webpage background show thru.
