As the title says, sometimes I'm looking for something either get no results or have to modify my search query, can the wait time between searches be reduced to 10-15 seconds or perhaps eliminated for registered users?

I agree, when a search turns up no results, and then you gotta wait for another 25 seconds.... then you think you waited long enough.... and you have one more second!

Yeah there is a time on searches. It is somewhat annoying when you are trying to find something and you get that wait time message.

I agree. Usually it's not a big deal but when I need to find something quick it's a PITA.

yeah, the waittimes are there to prevent the database from being overwhelmed

I'm cool with a smaller wait time for searches. What I'm really annoyed about is when a search yields no results and you still have to wait 25 seconds.
I could swear I've been to other forums where if no search results were found, you can immediately search again. But if search results were found, then there was a wait time. I'd be ok with that.
Its too bad there isn't an option where if a search comes up with no results that there is no time limit.
This gets me, especially when i type a word in too fast and reverse letters.

I can personally tell you, vbulletin search funtion is one of the most poorly coded thing in the world. It is insanly DB intensive. It can overwhelm a server very easily, it takes like 4x the forum activity to do what one search session can do.

I agree.
I too wish that I could disable the timer if no results are found. That was something that always bugged me.

Cause like 25 seconds is SUCH an eternity...

25 seconds is an ETERNITY for any modern DB server.
Even reducing the search wait time to 1s would prevent overload.
