Yup. I bought 100 red LED's off ebay with resistors for about $5 shipped. I've had them for over a year, so i put them to good use. I'm trying how to make the LED's light up more when i press the brakes. Any suggestions?

I believe they won't work if you pull the resistors out...

Can you repeat what exactly your trying to do...?

i used to live alot closer to you than i do now.
growing up i've lived in cookesville, burlington, st. thomas, and finally london before moving back west in 79.

didn't think so. was just a thought. i guess only real way would be boost the voltage, but that would also probably be detrimental to the lifespan.
have to keep that mod in mind for my new yorker.
how about doubling or tripling them up and connecting the second/third string to the brake lights?

You mean 2 12 volts in parallel? That would just make it 12v with twice the amperage. Hmm
Serious, I'm trying to have the LED's as running lights, but when I press the brakes, I want them to light up brighter

George Brown just north of Downtown near Casa Loma? Cool. Hit me up sometime, we should have a mini meet. Lol, you brown too?

no, thinking more of a 12 volt transformer with higher voltage output. but then you'd need an isolator to stop the higher voltage feedback into your park lights.
did you use all 100 in there?
if you relayed them instead of direct wired them, then you could have a higher voltage source supply power with the brake lights.
are the leds themselves parallel or series wired? not the supply, but each light.
might have somewhere to go with that.
just throwing out ideas.
or use a resistor to drop the voltage in park lights, with a direct wire fed from the brake lights for full 12.

I used about 30 LED's and wired them up in parallel, so that if one goes out, it wouldn't affect the rest. I might do the relay thing. I'll keep looking for some answers. If it works, i'll do my tail lights!

i like your led mod. i would just keep them on your running lights.
